One of the most eye-opening things that Kate experienced at her first writer's conference (shout out to Killer Nashville!) was meeting people with the same goals and fears as her. Maybe that sounds a little ridiculous, but it helped to know that she wasn't the only one struggling with surety. Being ready to become a full-time writer wasn't enough for her to take the plunge, but after meeting so many like-minded people she felt invigorated and wanted to keep going.
